A real trend for 2022, this blown glass vase on wood coming directly from Bali is handmade from recycled glass and Balinese Gamal wood.
The glass is mouth blown and while still hot it is then placed on a piece of Gamal root, the glass hardens and takes the shape of the wood ensuring a perfect fit.
These objects are made naturally using hand tools in the traditional way. They provide a unique setting for rocks and air plants, terrariums, dried flowers, or even your favorite wines or whiskeys!
Bring nature into your home with these absolutely beautiful (and affordable) natural artworks!
Please note that due to the handmade nature of this product there may be small imperfections in the glass such as small bubbles and light scratches.
Dimensions : H: 24cm Opening diameter: 4cm
Height 27cm on the wooden base.
A fair approach :
These blown glass objects on wood are made in Kampon Burung or the Bird Village located in Bali. It is a small village almost exclusively inhabited by artisans specializing in manual woodcarving.
The wood used is Gliricidia sepium, a fast-growing indigenous species.
It is not a rare or valuable wood and is widely used for several purposes including fodder, composting, furniture construction etc.
For this range of product, the part used is the root which is a scrap from the furniture industry, so it would be destined for sawdust, or firewood, but it receives a new breath of life through of these products. Same thing for the glass, it is recycled glass that is melted and blown by hand
by skilled craftsmen to give it a new shape.
These products are purchased directly from the craftsmen, which guarantees their authenticity, and above all that they are made without any human exploitation and that their purchase will support the economy and the trade of the families of this region of Bali.
